Precious Metals

Believe it or not, precious metals are a HOT commodity in places other than trading markets.  Precious metals such as gold, platinum, and copper have been showing up in some of the finest eye serums on the market.

You may have seen precious metals and minerals like diamonds, platinum, silver and gold are making a splash in skin care products.  Their antioxidant-rich properties are being cited in marketing materials.  Some of these.

So, why get silver when you can have gold?  Oro Gold Cosmetics is the leader in skin care products with gold as a primary ingredient.  The 24k gold eye serum has been getting good reviews online.  (We have not formally reviewed it here, so please see the link for a full review we found on the product.)

The most expensive precious metal, platinum, is also used in some formulas, such as La Prairie’s Cellular Cream Platinum Rare.  This is the most expensive treatment available.  The cream makes many claims, which are not worth stating because at the end of the day, are they worth the price of $1,000 for a 1.7 oz jar?  We’ll let you find it yourself if you feel the price is justifiable.  But, it was worth mentioning as platinum does have some anti aging properties like other precious metals.

As the anti aging industry industry saw sales numbers rise 5% last year in a down economy, you can give some credit to precious metals and especially gold, which seems to be the most popular precious metal in this group.
