This product, made by the skin care company Hydroxatone, is a product that is formulated to treat the dark circles and bags that form under the eyes due to puffiness and sagging skin. In addition, it has properties that work to eradicate fine lines and wrinkles in the eye area. These skin issues form due to the aging of the skin, which is already thin and sensitive in this area, as well as exposure to the sun and repeated use of the muscles of the face over time. Aging of the skin is unavoidable, though there are ways to eradicate these unsightly issues on the skin with anti aging skin care products such as this.
There are many reviews and testimonials on the website for Hydrolyze that tout the benefits of using this product. While the manufacturer can be selective on what it puts on its website, it is better to go to a third-party site such as Amazon that will have unfiltered reviews. It currently has a 3.5 star rating (out of 5 stars), with the verified reviews (at first glance) giving it a low grade of 2 stars mostly.
It seems that this company did a lot of promotion with free product samples, as there are a number of “Vine Customer Review of Free Product” notations on the reviews. These reviews tended to skew higher at 4 or 5 stars. Users are reporting this product is “thick” and “rich” and that they’ve enjoyed the moisturizing properties without experiencing any side effects such as irritation or stinging of the eyes.
From the looks of the customer testimonials, it seems that this product has been very helpful in reducing the dark circles and puffiness below the eyes, however, it wasn’t as effective in reducing wrinkles and creases in the skin. One review went so far as to say “a lovely moisturizer, but that’s about it.” It has a number of peptides in the formula that also help with skin tone, brightening the skin to make it look younger. Taking a further look at the ingredients, it seems to have much more anti inflammatory properties which help with swelling, but is lacking in active ingredients that tighten the skin which helps smooth out lines on the skin’s surface. Many are using this product in tandem with other eye serums to resolve all of their issues.
This product sells for around $40 (at the time of this writing) on Amazon for a 0.5 ounce container. A little dab is all that is needed to apply this product, so this should probably last you around a month and at this price point it is a more economical option than other eye creams on the market that can run up to $100 or more.
If you are looking for an eye serum that gets the job done – fine lines, wrinkles, dark circles and eye bags – without having to be supplemented with other products, I recommend you take a look at my top recommendation Elite Serum in my full review here.
