Argireline is manufactured by Lipotec, a Spanish company.  It is also known by it’s scientific (INCI) name, Acetyl Hexapeptide-3. It works by inhibiting the release of neurotransmitters. When applied to the skin, Argireline relaxes facial tension leading to the reduction in facial lines and wrinkles with regular use. This resembles the effect of Botox, which reduces facial tension and movement by paralyzing facial muscles. Which is why Argireline is known in the skin care industry as the needle-free alternative to botox.

So far, the evidence to support the benefits of Argireline is overwhelming. In a clinical study published in the International Journal of Cosmetic Science, acetyl hexapeptide-3 at a 10% concentration has been shown to reduce the depth of wrinkles up to 30% after 30 days of use. There are many other credible clinical studies to be found. It is also worth noting that since it is such a new discovery, there are no long-term studies showing it’s therapeutic benefits nor it’s potential side effects.  However, it has been getting praise for it’s short term benefits and is now a common ingredient in many skin serums.

Perhaps the most compelling argument for people who believe that Argireline is the best anti wrinkle peptide is the fact that the peptide itself is a shortened version of Botulinum toxin, known best as Botox.

Our reasearch showed that Argireline was first used in an eye serum by EliteSkin,  makers of the Elite Serum reviewed on this website.  In the years since it was first made, there have been many other companies, including a national television advertisement by Guthy Renker brands, touting it’s use of the ingredient in their product line.
